About the shop
Atlantic Glass & Mirror works out of Virginia Beach Boulevard, cutting and fitting glass for homes and businesses across the Beach and the surrounding cities. Glass is a measure-twice trade: a pane cut an eighth of an inch wrong is scrap, and there is no adjusting it on site.
The coastal setting drives a lot of the work. Salt air pits and clouds glass over time. Seals on double-pane units fail in the heat and the space between the panes fogs permanently. Storm season brings broken lights that need boarding today and replacing properly this week. And every year a fair number of shower doors, tabletops and mirrors simply meet an unfortunate end.
What we do
- Insulated glass replacement
- Fogged or clouded double-pane units. The failed glass unit gets replaced without replacing the whole window, which is usually a fraction of the cost.
- Broken window glass
- Residential and commercial. Emergency board-up where it is needed, then a proper cut-to-size replacement.
- Shower doors and enclosures
- Frameless and framed, measured to the opening you actually have rather than the one the tile was supposed to produce.
- Mirrors
- Wall mirrors, vanity mirrors and custom-cut pieces, with edges finished and mounted properly.
- Tabletops and shelving
- Cut to template, edges polished, corners eased. Protective glass for furniture that deserves it.
- Storefront glass
- Commercial entrances and display windows, including the ones that need to be secured today and finished tomorrow.
How it works
Measure
Either you bring the piece and the measurements in, or the opening gets measured on site. For anything structural or unusual, measuring on site is the only way to get it right.
Cut and prepare
Glass is cut to size, edges are worked, and any tempering or coating requirements get handled before installation.
Fit
The piece goes in, gets sealed where it needs sealing, and the old material leaves with the installer.

Questions people ask
My window is fogged between the panes. Do I need a whole new window?
Usually not. The seal on the insulated glass unit has failed, and in most cases that unit can be replaced inside the existing frame.
Can you come out today for a broken window?
Call and describe the situation. Broken glass in an occupied building gets handled ahead of scheduled work.
Do I need tempered glass?
For shower doors, most tabletops and any glass near a floor or door, yes — building code requires it and it is a safety matter, not an upsell.
Can you match an odd shape?
Yes, with a template. Bring the old piece if it is intact, or the shape can be templated on site.
How long does a custom piece take?
It depends on the glass type and thickness. Call with what you need and you will get a real timeframe.
