Dog Grooming · Newport News, Virginia

GroomingKingdomINC

Gentle, professional grooming for dogs and cats on Warwick Boulevard — clean, trimmed and calm at the end of it.

About the shop

Grooming that starts with how your pet feels, not how fast the schedule moves.

GroomingKingdomINC is a pet grooming salon at 13678 Warwick Boulevard in the Denbigh area of Newport News, close to Kiln Creek and Fort Eustis. It grooms dogs and cats, and its regulars are the ones who tried the big-box groomer first and came here instead.

Good grooming is quiet work: reading the animal, taking the time a nervous dog needs, getting the coat right for the breed and the season. Owners notice the difference when the dog comes out of the back without being frazzled — and when the trim actually looks like the picture they showed.

What we do

Services

Dog and cat grooming in Denbigh. Call with your pet's breed and what you would like done.

01

Full groom

Bath, blow-dry, brush-out, haircut to breed or owner's spec, nails, ears and a finishing touch. The complete job.

02

Bath and tidy

Wash, dry, brush and a trim around the face, feet and sanitary areas. For between full grooms.

03

De-shedding

For the double coats that fill the house every spring. A proper undercoat treatment, not just a bath.

04

Cat grooming

Baths, lion cuts, mat removal and nail trims for cats, handled by people who know cats are not small dogs.

05

Nails, ears and teeth

Quick walk-in-style services — nail trims, ear cleaning and teeth brushing — between grooms. Call to ask.

06

Puppy's first groom

A gentle introduction so the first visit is a good memory. Short, calm and rewarded.

How it works

From the first call to the finished job.

STEP 1

Call about your pet

Breed, coat, age, temperament and what you would like done. You get a time and an honest sense of what the groom involves.

STEP 2

Drop off

Bring vaccination records the first time. Your pet is handled one-on-one, not left in a line.

STEP 3

Pick up a different animal

Clean, trimmed, nails done and noticeably pleased with itself.

Good to know

Questions people ask before they call.

Do you groom cats?

Yes. Cat grooming — baths, lion cuts, mat removal, nails — is offered. Call to book.

My dog is anxious at the groomer. Can you help?

Tell the groomer when you book. Nervous dogs get more time and a calmer approach, and it usually makes the difference.

How often should my dog be groomed?

It depends on the coat — every four to eight weeks for most breeds that need a haircut. The groomer will tell you what fits your dog.

What do I need to bring?

Current vaccination records for the first visit. Ask when you book if anything else is needed.
